Subject: Residual form bucket bitmap optimization failed validation test.
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Domino Server
Technical Area: Administration
Platform: Windows
Release: 8.5.3
Reproducible: Unknown

Two days ago did in place upgrades for our remote servers. Our Admin server and another local server were previously upgraded via clean installs. All servers are now at 8.5.3FP1.

I noticed in the log of several of the remote servers the line:

WARNING: Residual form bucket bitmap optimization failed validation test. Please run fixup on this database.

Although it doesn't indicate the database in question, the line appears to follow, in most cases after a line indicating replication of a specific database occurring. Replication completes fine. A replica exists on all 8 of our servers.

I can't find anything online regarding this error. I've tried fixup on the database I think it's referring to and nothing changed. We do have the Advanced Property "Optimize document table map" enabled on this database. This is a large db (almost 2GB) and high demand as well, so taking it off line for any length of time isn't really an option. It's been suggested that the error was probably always there, but the upgrade to ND8.x just made it visible in the log. It only appears in the log starting from the time I upgraded these last servers. Looking on the two previously upgraded servers, the warning does appear prior to July 2nd. I don't know for how long.

What are the ramifications to an end user if I disable the advanced property? It has been suggested that perhaps a copy style compact on this database might resolve the issue. Should I do something like that before disabling the property? I would have to do that on a weekend when the database isn't in use. And would I have to do it on all of the replicas or would the fix replicate perhaps (if it did resolve)?

Thanks,
Pam
